“Static Memory” is a short 3D horror puzzle game made by three first-time game developers for the GameDev.tv Halloween Jam 2025 !
The story follows a pair of brothers and their younger brother’s friend who, after a Halloween night gone wrong, find themselves trapped in a strange, decaying house.
What starts as a simple search for the missing kids soon turns into something much darker.

What a nice game!
I really liked the idea of switching between two worlds. I think it was executed really well. The game has a distinct visual style, it felt like you had some constraints in terms of model use and animations, but you've found some clever workarounds, kudos for that! I liked the spoky-cartoonish style of it all, mixing cutsey and scary elements. I also liked the way puzzles are integrated into the story (although I was left wanting more in that regard), and how the story was presented overall. The cutscenes were cute and well crafted, although I wish that the subtitles timing was more generous, or that the dialog would progress only after player input, since some of the lines changed too fast for me.
After the final escape cutscene (great cinematic timing on that!), it just ended abruptly, with no notification or anything, just the black screen, and that's it. I'm not sure if this was intentional or not, but it left me confused.
Aside from that, very impressive work! Thank you for the fun and spooky experience :)
